DEFINITION OF EXPLANATION TEXT

DEFINITION		An Explanation Text is a text which tells how and why things occur in scientific and technical fields. They may include visual image, such as flow charts and diagrams, which need to be carefully examined.
COMMUNICATIVE PURPOSE				The Communicative Purpose of the explanation text is to explain the processes involved in the formation or working of natural or socio cultural phenomena.
GENERIC STRUCTURE (Text Organization)			A General Statement to position the reader.
			A Sequenced Explanation of Why and How something occurs.
LINGUISTIC  FEATURES ( Lexicogrammatical  Features )	1.     Menggunakan General dan Abstract Nouns, misalnya: word chopping, earthquakes, the temperature, dsb. 2.     Menggunakan Action Verbs ( material process). 3.     Menggunakan Simple Present Tense. 4.     Mengunakan Kalimat Pasif ( passive voice ) 5.     Menggunakan Conjunction of Time dan Cause. 6.     Menggunakan Noun Phrase, misalnya: the large cloud, dsb. 7.     Menggunakan Adverbial Phrases. 8.     Menggunakan Complex Sentences. 9.     Menggunakan Bahasa Teknis.
