DEFINITION OF REVIEW TEXT

DEFINITION			A Review Text is a text which is used to summarize, analyze, and respond to art work. They may include: Movie, TV shows, Books, Plays / drama, Concerts, Ballets, Songs, Contest, etc.
COMMUNICATIVE PURPOSE				The Communicative Purpose of the Review text is to critique an art work or event for a public audience.
GENERIC STRUCTURE ( Text Organization )	ORIENTATION : It is a background information on the text. OR It places the work in its general and particular context, often by comparing it with others of its kind or through an analogue with a non-art object or event.
	INTERPRETATIVE RECOUNT : It is a summary of an art works ( including characters and plot ). OR it summaries the plot and/or  provides an account of how the reviewed version of the work came into being. It is optional, but if present, often recursive.
	EVALUATION : Concluding statement ( judgement, opinion or recommendation). It consists more than one. OR It provides an evaluation of the work and/or its performance or production. It is usually recursive.
	EVALUATIVE SUMMATION : The last opinion consisting the appraisal or the punch line of the artworks being criticized. OR it provides a kind of  punch line which sums up the reviewers’  opinion of the art event as a whole.
LINGUISTIC FEATURES (Lexicogrammatical Features)		1.      Terfokus pada partisipan tertentu ( nama dari karya seni tertentu ). 2.      Menggunakan kata sifat (adjective) sebagai ungkapan pendapat/sikap terhadap kualitas karya seni tertentu secara langsung, misalnya: Good, Bad, Not bad, Quite good, dsb. 3.      Menggunakan klausa panjang dan juga Kalimat majemuk untuk menjelaskan dan mengemas informasi. 4.      Menggunakan ungkapan bahasa Metafora ( Metaphorical Expressions ). 5.      Menggunakan Simple Present untuk menyatakan Evaluasi dan Simple Past untuk menjelaskan kegiatan masa lalu dalam rangkuman.
