DEFINITION OF SPOOF TEXT




DEFINITION

A Spoof is a recount text but it has an unexpected, unpredictable, and funny ending story. This kind of ending is called a twist (akhir yang tidak terduga/tidak diharapkan tetapi lucu).

COMMUNICATIVE
PURPOSE
The Communicative Purpose of Spoof is to tell past events and to entertain the readers or listeners.



GENERIC STRUCTURE
(Text Organization)


ORIENTATION : It provides the backgrounds information about the setting and introduces participants (who was involved, where and when it happened).

EVENTS : It tells what happens and in what sequence ( a series of events, ordered in chronological sequence ).

TWIST : It is unexpected, unpredictable, and funny ending story. It  usually contains the misinterpretation of something between the persons in the text.

LINGUISTIC FEATURES
(Lexicogrammatical Features)

1.       Terfokus pada orang, binatang, benda tertentu.
2.       Mengunakan Action Verbs (kata kerja tindakan / material process), misalnya: run, eat, dsb.
3.       Menggunakan keterangan waktu dan tempat.
4.       Menggunakan Simple Past Tense.
5.         Disusun sesuai dengan urutan kejadian (Chronological order).
