WHY DO HAWKS HUNT CHICKS?

Orientation
Once upon a time, a hawk fell in love with a hen. The hawk flew down from the sky and asked the hen, “Will you marry me?”

Complication
The hen loved the brave, strong hawk and wished to marry him. But she said, “I can not fly as high as you can. If you give time, I may learn to fly together.”

Resolution
The hawk agreed. Before he went away, he gave the hen a ring. “This is to show that you have promised to marry me,: said the hawk.

Complication
It so happened that the hen had already promised to marry a rooster. So, when the rooster saw the ring, he became very angry. “Throw that ring away at once!” shouted the rooster. The hen was so frightened at the rooster’s anger that she threw away the ring immediately.

Resolution
When the hawk came a few months later, the hen told him the truth. The hawk was so furious that he cursed the hen, “Why didn’t you tell me earlier? Now, you will always be scratching the earth, I will always be flying above to catch your children,” said the hawk.

AN UNLUCKY DAY

ORIENTATION
One morning I got up with the feeling that the day was going to be an unlucky one for me. How right it was! I found that it was already 06:15 am.

EVENT  1
I rushed into the bathroom. I did not see a piece of soap lying on the floor. I stepped on it and slipped, almost breaking my back in the process.

EVENT  2
Then, I went into dinning room for my breakfast. I gulped down the tea without realizing that it was very hot. It burnt my tongue. I spat it out and could not eat anything because my tongue hurt. I got dressed and rushed to the bus stop.
Unfortunately, I just missed the bus. My heart sank and I knew that I would be late for school.

EVENT  3
When I reached school, my name was taken down by the teacher. The teacher scolded me for being late. To my humiliation, I was made to stand outside the class. I was so upset by the incidents that I could not study properly. But worse was to come.

EVENT  4
After school, I was on my way home when something hard hit me on the head. Some one had thrown a bag of fish bones out of the window and it landed on me! I was boiling with rage but could do nothing. However, luckily for me, this only one raised a small lump on my head.
REORIENTATION
I managed to reach home safe and sound, and did not dare to go out again for the rest of the day.

DAN ANALISIS GENERIC STRUCTUR-NYA

ORIENTATION
Peter Judd joined the army when he was eighteen, and for several months he was taught how to be a good soldier. He did quite well in everything except shooting.

EVENT 1
One day, he and his friend were practicing their shooting, all of them were doing quite well except Peter. After he had shot at the target nine times and had not hit it once, the officer who was trying to teach the young soldiers to shoot said, ”You are quite hopeless, Peter! Don’t waste your last ballet too! Go behind that wall and shoot yourself with it!”

EVENT 2
Peter felt ashamed. He went behind the wall, and a few seconds later the officer and the other young soldiers heard the sound of a shot. “Heavens!” the officer said. “Has that silly man really shot himself?”

TWIST
He ran behind the wall anxiously, but Peter was alright. “I am sorry, Sir,” he said, “but I missed again.”
